Two files with metadata.
Hello, I need to explain the function of the two files, with metadata. The directory author / book name I have books in ePub format. Here is a set metadata.opf where they are properly stored information about the genre of the book. After unpacking epub file contents.opf here is where the data is wrong, or before. When I corrected the genre, so I did not get it. Book reader takes infoemace just content.opf from the file, so there are inaccuracies. how it can be solved? Thank you all for your feedback.

The book files in the library are NOT updated when you change metadata, the library database (metadata.db) is changed, and a database recovery file (metadata.opf) is written to the book folder.
Many users specifically don't want the format files that are stored in the library changed, because they know that when a book is Sent to their Device or Saved to Disk the copy Sent or Saved will contain the current metadata. There are also performance implications if multiple format files were updated whenever a metadata element changed If you want to update the library copies of the files you can use the Embed Metadata tool on most file formats, the Polish Books tool on EPUB and AZW3 files, or the Modify optional plugin for EPUB files only. You probably need to use Preferences->Toolbars to put Embed Metadata and Polish Books options into toolbars and/or menus, and if you need the Modify PI, you'll have to install it via Preferences->Plugins. Likewise, the Editor will update the embedded metadata (at least some - not sure) when you open an epub for editing
Doesn't go the other way: Updating metadata in the epub does not update the Calibre database |
