replaced kobo with kindle voyage? what do i need to know
i had a kobo glo hd, sold this regrettably for the kobo aura one (which was too big and buggy (more awkward to swipe or touch to change pages i felt compared to the smaller model and i also had wifi connection issues or it connecting to my windows 10 laptop, so i returned these devices which i used to use calibre to manage my books. books generally epub
and now i have a kindle voyage (just need to collect from the post office) what do i need to know 1) i used to use the kobo for pocket intergration what is the equivalent to save web artciles directly to my kindle? is there any apps in the in feedly rss app that will let me save to the kindle web broswer extensions i need? 2) i heard calibre can't manage my books? so i know how to convert to .mobi is there anything else i need to know? 3) is there a standard pdf conversion steps i should know? to make pdf articles display better 4) any other tips thanks |

1. Voyage is Not a Tablet its a ereader & No Apps can be installed on it.
2. Calibre Can Manage your Collections...yes you will need to change the format to MOBI for the Kindle. BTW once you add the Voyage to a Amazon account it too can do collections. 3. Don't know ![]() 4. Enjoy! Happy Reading! |

I think there is a way to get articles on your kindle. I think you can use the send to Kindle feature.
As per apps and stuff, you would need to jailbreak your kindle. Then you can do more with it. Here is the link to the jailbreak thread. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275877 For pdfs to render better, I think you need to jailbreak and add Koreader. Calibre I am not sure but someone should be along shortly with more answers. |

Calibre can not manage collections on a modern Kindle, at least not one that isn't jailbroken. |

the send to plug in (official ones, dont work as good as instapaper / pocket ) as some articles it just creates a link
is there a way to save to these apps (e.g pocket) and then press a button on the kindle to retrieve them in someway? rather then a scheduled time |

I use Send to Kindle all the time. It has failed a time or two but it's rare. Overall it's very reliable.

ok will try that. also love the fact that ive set calibre to push any files loaded via email directly to the kindle, that is a great feature
another question i had is how can i delete files from device? as it still shows. the options i see is i have log onto the amzon website and remove from there. is there another way if i have a collection of articles which have been sent across, it clutters the kindle. just trying to think of a way or organising it into a collection? directory? so its neater. And find a way to easily remove files via the kindle. or is this something ihave to do online via the web thank you |

You are deleting the file from the Kindle, but you're seeing it in your Cloud library. Change the homepage view from "All" to "Downloaded" to only see what's on the Kindle. The only way to delete something from the Cloud library is via Amazon's website.

For instantaneous sending to Kindle, try Klip.me. The java bookmarklet makes sure you can use it on every modern browser, even those that have no send to Kindle extension available.
Clear out the personal documents part on your “Manage your contents and devices” page on Amazon. PDF conversion is tricky. You could try installing Koreader after jailbreaking. This gives you loads of options (it takes virtually every file and makes it nicely readable). If for some reason you would rather like to use the built in reader (which isn't half as bad as on Kobo, and lets you add notes to annotations, not sure why Koreader still hasn’t implemented that option), try k2pdfopt (preferably use briss first, if you are dealing with uneven layout, e.g. for left and right binding or from scans). This lets you convert your larger page PDFs into page sizes that are better suited for smaller screens while retaining text flow and a comfortable font size. Kindle does not support DRM'ed PDFs, so you may need to take care of that as well... Good luck with your new gadget! |
