Where is Kindle Android hiding the book files now?
Just downloaded and read "Silo 49: Going Dark" by Ann Christy.
It is NOT anywhere under Android\data\com.amazon.kindle or in the Kindle folder where it used to put downloaded books. Sideloaded books go into Kindle, still very annoying they can't be put on SD instead of taking up internal storage space. Would be nice if Amazon would quit screwing around with this. At least with the Windows version the book files go into one place and it's the same place they always have downloaded to. |

What version/build od Kindle app do you have?
I've just tried downloading couple of books I have from Kindle store on both app version 7.4.0.32 and 7.4.0.36 and for both I have for each book a folder with name that equals book'a ASIN containing bunch of .kfx files and x-ray, endActions etc. Located at /sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/ Maybe it's some kind of new opt-in extra security on per-book basis for publishers and/or selfpub authors? |

I get the same result as shamanNS.
I "purchased" the free book (Silo 49: Going Dark by Ann Christy) and had it delivered to my Android device running K4A 7.4.0.32. As expected, it appeared in the "/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/B00DYV8NKQ" folder as a set of .kfx files, since that book supports Enhanced Typesetting. ETA: One thing I forgot to mention and seeing the "\" characters in the original post reminded me... The "files" directory under "com.amazon.kindle" is somehow blocked from access via USB. If you want to access these files from a PC you need to use a file manager on the Android device to copy the contents somewhere else. Edit 2: I did some more research and it turns out that the "files" directory being missing over USB was a problem on my device. The MTP protocol that provides file access over USB depends on a database collected by the internal Media Storage app. I needed to clear that app's database and restart to fix the problem.
