Bought a glo hd earlier this year. A month or so ago started to have trouble connecting to power adapter or pc - the connection would break and then come back. I switched to the USB cable provided with the reader, it seemed to work better, but now it's almost completely stopped working.
Anyone else had this problem? I bought it from a W H Smith in the UK, wondering whether to take it back there or contact Kobo directly. I don't really want to send it in for repair, since I don't have a backup. Maybe I should have bought a small tablet instead of the Glo HD. |

If it is less than a year, it should be covered by the warrenty. I am in the U.S.A., so I don't have a store to take one back. When I had an issue with an Aura 6", I contacted Kobo, went through a few rounds of "things to try", and then they sent me a new unit. I did not have to return my defective unit until the replacement arrived, but my problem was different than yours, so you may get a different request.
If I were you, I would take it back to the store and see what they will do. Good Luck! |

Thanks for reply, Ksquared.
I took it to the store (W H Smith), they accepted that it was faulty. They didn't have a replacement Glo HD, and since I wanted an e-reader for a trip in a weeks time, they showed me that it can be charged if you hold the plug at a certain angle to the socket, and said I could send it off to Kobo myself, freepost, with a signed from from the store saying faulty. Pretty helpful. No idea how long Kobo will take to replace it, or whether it'll be a Glo or Aura. But I can use my phone as a reader, Moto G 3rd Gen, pretty good screen, but the battery life is tiny by comparison with an e-ink reader. |
