Huge spaces between paragraphs

I am building an Ebook using Mac Pages to Epub.
When I open it in Calibre Ereader, all works fine.
When I upload it to my Kobo, all works fine.

However, inside the Pocketbook Verse I get huge gapes between every paragraph. And endnote numbers are floating in huge spaces.

There are no settings in which to change this inside the pokcetbook. Also, I notice that checking other Epubs that I have downloaded, also have a gap between each paragraph (albeit at a normal size). When opening these same books inside the Kobo or Calibre there are no paragraph gaps.
What should I do? I don't want Pocketbook customers to end up with a non working Epub.
