Not Updating Read Column
I added a read column to my Calibre library so I can attempt to keep track of the books I read. I must be doing something wrong because Calibre Companion is not updating the column to yes that it has been read. I am sure I have done something wrong but I do not know what. Or maybe I misunderstood that CC would update the read column. So someone either set me straight on whether CC will update the column or attempt to help me figure out what I have done wrong in setting this up.
Thanks and stay warm and safe this cold winter. |

@KyBunnies: Three things must happen for CC to update an is_read column in calibre.
The first thing you must do is create the correct column(s) in calibre. Next you must tell CC what calibre column is to be used for is_read. See our FAQ answer Can I synchronize CC's Read and Date Read information with calibre?. After you have set up the columns then when you finish reading a book you must change the is-read indicator in CC. You do this in CC's Book Details for the book. Once you change it here it will be synced back to calibre the next time you connect as a wireless device. |

The FAQ doesn't say, but I had to Connect after step 2 so CC could become aware of my custom columns. Else in Step 3 those columns are not offered to sync. Then Disconnect again to config the syncs, as described in Step 3. This is working well. Thanks.
