Ipad3 / Itunes 12.4.3.1 does not show on calibre

Hi All I apologise for my ignorance ahead. I have been searching the threads but whatever i do my ipad is not showing up on calibre and same for itunes, please help

Is your computer recognizing the iPad as being attached to the USB port? If not, try a different USB cable or different USB port on the computer. That's always your first step. If the PC can't see the iPad, none of your software will see it.

Thanks Cesca & Dave, no problem with itunes recognizing my ipad3. I put same settings on calibre and itunes still it doesnt show up on calibre. i'm also all updated on calibre and itunes and read the treads to see if i am missing something.I have never seen my ipad3 in calibre by the way so its not something that suddenly happened on my imac.

I'm a little confused. In your initial post you say:

That seems to be a contradiction. Is your iPad working correctly with iTunes or isn't it?

Hi Harry, sorry what i meant was my ipad3 is not showing up in calibre and my itunes is not showing up also in calibre. (i read somewhere you can change some settings to show itunes in calibre)
But connecting my ipad3 to itunes is not an issue as that always works.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Personally I find that the easiest way to transfer books from Calibre to the iPad is to use the Calibre content server. If you have a question specifically about Calibre, though, it would be better to ask it in the Calibre forum rather than here.
