Is it possible to save PW2?

Hi Guys,
My kindle PW2 is completely dead. Can't restart it, even with 24H recharge or connected to a PC. I always get the "tree" image on the screen and nothing more.
My question is, can I try to brick and force a restart or it is impossible if your PC won't recognize the Kindle?

Yes - you will need to use the serial port.

We have a thread here on that subject (it may be for a different device, but only the names change - the procedure is the same).
