US Bookstores and Kobo
I came across this list of independent book stores in the US that are Kobo affiliated. Not sure if they all carry eReaders or not.

Even stores like Greenlight, in Brooklyn, which used to be somewhat big sellers of Kobo's a few years ago have pretty much dropped them all together and only do the book affiliate thing. Politics & Prose in D.C. was another big one, not sure if they still do anything hardware wise or not. |

Several years ago I bought my first (and then months later a second backup) Kobo Glo from The Book Cellar. While they said I can buy books through them now, they no longer carry any of the Kobo readers, nor can they order them. A few other places I called didn't carry the readers at all when I was shopping around for them. I preferred buying locally in case there were any problems with the reader. Now I order from Chapters in Canada and with the exchange rates, it turns out cheaper than buying direct from Kobo even though they charge $15 shipping.
So that list has been out there for quite awhile, just not very reliable. You have to call a store to find out if they really do carry the Kobo readers at all, and if so, which ones. |
