I ordered a black Dot, which I'll pair with my portable Creative Sound Blaster Roar speaker. I already have an Echo and a Tap, and I'm very happy with both.

I'm getting one for my elderly Mom. She can use the options she enjoys (timer, alarm, classical music) and I can listen to my audiobooks while washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Currently, I have one in my living area and bedroom and use it mostly for audiobooks.

I still can't get the light switch thing to work right. However, I think if I focused on that a bit, I could figure it out.

I just want a lamp at the end of a long hallway to turn on so that I don't have to turn the overhead light on.

I am keen to buy an echo and I was thinking of getting a tap as a Christmas gift for someone. Are they likely to go on sale on Black Friday, do you think?

Even if it were available here, I doubt I'd buy it. I really don't see the advantage of that thing (and that from a gadget freak!)

I guess some people are freakier than others!

I like it better than the tap. I like the voice activation. I like the price. I'll be annoyed with myself, if it's a Black Friday deal.
