My epub immediately is 100% read
I added a TOC to a book I had by creating some h1 headings and then generating a TOC from the headings. I then inserted the TOC inline and moved it just below the cover image.
Using View in Calibre, everything looked great. The TOC showed up right after the Cover and I could move to specific headings by clicking on them. So I transferred the epub to my Kobo Glo HD. When I open the book I see my cover and next page shows blank and 100% read. I set the book to unread but same thing happens. The rest of the epub is there. I can navigate to the TOC and use it to move within the epub but next page from cover goes to 100% read. Any ideas?? |

Note that it displays correctly in Calibre viewer but the problem occurs in the Kobo kepub reader.

Was there a previous copy of the epub on the device before you readded it? If so try dropping the book from the Kobo, then if you deleted the book via calibre disconnect the device to ensure that the database on the Kobo is updated, and finally resend the book to the device. See if that helps

It could be a problem with the book already being on the device. If it is, you will need to remove and resend it.
But, I suspect an error in the code of the book. The calibre viewer is forgiving of errors in epubs. The RMSDK renderer on the Kobo devices is not. Edit the book again and run the error check. My guess will be there are some incorrectly nested tags on the page that should be displayed when it is blank. Or some missing close tags. |

I had previously removed the book from my reader before downloading the modified version;
I checked the edit of the book and it pointed out 4 non-linear items which I changed to linear. Re-ran the check and no errors found. Saved changes. Removed the book from ereader again and downloaded new version; but, same results. I will compare this book edit with some working book edits and try to duplicate the logic that works. Thanks for all suggestions and thanks to theducks for adding the spoiler logic to my message above. |
