Rowland (ISFDB, Science Fiction Encyclopedia), is his standalone western historical adventure novel, starring a ranger out to get even with an outlaw gang who's already killed several of his colleagues, leaving him for dead, only he's trying to do it undercover in a place where everyone he runs into seems to recognize him, which, were this another genre, would probably lead to a case of Hilarity Ensues™, but instead just makes his planned revenge scheme all that much trickier, free courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Pioneering imprint, who are e-printing it from its 1984 edition originally out from Robert Hale using the pseudonym Stuart McHugh.

Because the story setup on this one sounds like it could be the makings of a hilarious comedy of errors, even though it probably isn't. And it's nice that Endeavour continues to be so generous with the freebies and the affordable reprints allowing us to readily sample the other-genre works of prolific sfnal authors as well.
