Custom column not expanded

Hello:
Let's see if I can explain well. After the last update, the custom columns no longer expand by entering the first letter or character. At first capture you can seen as column expands to author name, but for the nationality column, see that income the letter F and having data that begin with that letter, nothing is displayed, like there's no data.

What's happend?

I believe there was a version 2.64 regression error related to the 'completer' code, which I think is what you are describing. I would bet that it is already fixed for the next release, since Kovid kills bugs quickly.

Thanks to both. I only have wait the new version. However, I think Calibre need a quick way to restore to previous version, because the only way to do it, I guess, is export all, including books, to a new location, and then import it to restore preferences and libraries. I mention that because I could not install a previous version, but I could do that recently, this year, but now it's impossible.

BetterRed I tried the Shift-F2 but is not working in this case.

Of course you can install a previous version. It's possible you might have to uninstall the current version first but that will not delete any of your settings, or libraries. Then download the version you want and install that version. You can find all versions at the calibre website. See http://download.calibre-ebook.com

If you want to go back to an older version of calibre, all you need to do is uninstall your current version and install the version you want to use. The books and configuration are stored separately from the application and are not touched when installing or uninstalling.

Thank very much to both of you for answering. I just uninstall version 2.64 and I installed the 2.63 and everything works again as usual. I will wait for the new version where safely solve this problem.

Hi. I ended up facing the same problem after installing version 2.64 and was worried I had inadvertently changed something or made some error. From what I am understanding, the issue has been noticed and will be taken care of in the next version. So, should I just wait for version 2.65 and when I install the new version, the drop down option for custom columns will start working again?
I would appreciate any replies.

@FicReader81 - your choice - if its really annoying you then re-install 2.63 - see posts 5 and 6 for guidance on that.

I've been hankering for the new Short Text feature since Adam was a boy, and the drop downs don't effect me much, so I am using 2.64

It's a minor error in software logic - data is not affected one way or the other.
