Only one book format per book?

As Calibre is so good converting between formats, and currently I have my library in the cloud synced with Dropbox, I would like to find a way to left only one format for each ebook.

What I intend is not have only ePub, or only mobi, or whatever. That can be easily done with the delete menu.

As I buy ebooks from multiple places, some books are in epub, others in azw3, and so. Suppose I delete all books from one format, say epub. If one of my ebook is epub only, I lose that ebook and Calibre only lefts the entry without the ebook itself.

Then I would like to get a way to "clean" my library to left only one format for each ebook, based in some kind of preference. For example, select epub and azw3. Then if one ebook has epub, mobi, azw3, Calibre deletes all but epub one (azw3 inclusive), but if other book has only azw3, it lefts azw3, and if another ebook contains, say fb2 and mobi, as none of those formats are in my preference list, but Calibre knows I want only one ebook format, randomly (or by an internal preference list) delete one and left only one ebook format for each ebook.

Does this exists yet? If not, can be easily done? Thanks in advance.

@rfog - suggest you backup your library first, in case I've misunderstood, or I'm wrong, or you make a mistake, and then:
  1. Search formats:"=EPUB"
  2. Select all books (Ctrl+A)
  3. Select Remove books->Remove all formats in selected books, except... (Ctrl/Del)
  4. Select EPUB
  5. Click OK (Enter)

This is a rather bad idea. You would be best to keep the formats you bought so you have the retail source format in case for an reason, you want to convert again. If you convert and you find out you want to redo the conversion, you won't be able to because you've deleted the source format.

So if you have ePub & AZW3 for the same eBook and you want to remove one of them, remove the one that's not the retail format. What I do is I have two libraries. One is for the retail source eBooks and the other is for the copies that I actually read. That way if I want/need to make any changes, I can do so with the copy I am going to read. I copy the source to my to read library and do what I need with that one. That way I always have an untouched source if I need it.

That's exactly my idea. Normally I buy from Amazon Spain, remove the bug and then read with Marvin in iOS or Fiction Book Reader in Windows. But sometimes I buy from other shops -price, availability, etc..

Those formats shoud be epub or mobi. As from past experiences, epub is the best format outside Amazon. Then I have a lot of AZWx, some ePub.

Then I convert Amazon ones to epub in order to read in Marvin/FB, and currently, if I remove all epub, I remove the ones that only have epub, but with the solution given by BetterRed, I deleted all epub from AZWx + epub combination but not the only ePub ones.

I keep the retail books too, but in the same library. I give them another extension, ebub_ori or mobi_ori etc
