Can't sign into Facebook on Kobo Aura
It's as the title says. I reach a screen that says "Success" and tells me not to show the browser link (that I don't see) to anyone. Then it just sits there. Closing the window via the X in the top right corner or the arrow in the top left corner leads me back to the home screen / accounts settings menu where I'm again greeted with no Facebook account and am allowed to sign in again, something i just did.
Tried this procedure several times, even manually removing the device from my Facebook account directly (it shows up there as an app/login). It's not a big deal but I'm annoyed at anything that doesn't work the way it should (thankfully the pinch to zoom was finally fixed). The Kobo Android app links to Facebook with ease, I don't even need to confirm anything since both accounts are logged on my phone. Any ideas? |

You sure you're going to Settings | Accounts and selecting the sign in link? I see no Success or browser link after using my eMail address and facebook password.
later: I tried signing out and back in and had an issue with an invalid password. I eventually rebooted and again had no issues. Last edited by PeterT; 07-30-2016 at 03:36 PM. |

So step by step my actions are as follows:
1) Settings 2) Accounts 3) Sign in on Facebook 4) Enter email and password 5) Give Kobo access to my public profile 6) allow Kobo to post on my behalf 7) Here I am presented with a screen that says Success in the top left and on the next line there's an explanation to treat the URL as a password and not show it to anyone. I must note that AT NO POINT throughout the process has there ever been a URL visible. There's a link to Facebook's help center that I can't click (it doesn't act as a link). At this point nothing happens. There's nothing for me to click and I can only close the dialog/window (whatever you want to call it) which sends me to the home screen, or I can back out of that screen into the Accounts section of the settings menu where my Facebook account is still not linked. If I don't manually remove the login from Facebook I am immediately presented with the useless Success screen after I enter my login details with no action forward. http://imgur.com/zJEB0gT Last edited by Diruuo; 07-30-2016 at 04:56 PM. |
