Do you have this problem with your ebooks?
So much to read but too little time
![]() I work like 54 hours per week - including commute. By the time I come home from work, I am so exhausted and I have little time left to read my favorite ebooks. I only have one day off. I wish I have more time reading as I like to educate myself. |

Also, English is not my first language. I like to use the handy Kindle dictionary to look up a dictionary definition. The search function of the Kindle is also very useful. I can't do the foregoing with an audio book. Last edited by Julius Caesar; 08-05-2016 at 08:33 PM. |

Julius,
I think everyone would like more time. My husband has been putting in 56 hour work weeks. 5 days and no lunch. So 11 hour days. You have our sympathy. |

I am self employed and work long hours too. I still find a few minutes here and there to read during the day.

You might want to give audiobooks another try. Some of the narrators are really terrific, and add a depth to the story that you won't get from reading.

You need a job where you can read at work.
![]() I worked night-shift for a while as a machine operator in an engineering shop, but most of the time the machine operated itself and I just had to be there to make the occasional adjustment and fix it when it broke down. The pay wasn't great, but I got a lot of reading done. |

Read while you commute. If you drive, and you have co-workers who live in the same area as you, set up a car-sharing system which will allow you to read while someone else drives.

Studies show most people have a lot more time than they think, but we have habits we fall back on when tired - usually watching television or surfing the web.
If reading is a priority, make it the first entertainment choice you do once you get home, before TV or Internet. I teach time management so there are definitely things that can be done to help free up more time. |

I used to feel I couldn't listen to audiobooks, but now I'm a huge fan. I started out listening to classics that I'd read years ago, so they were at least vaguely familiar, and I didn't need to pay strict attention to follow the story. Then I got used to listening and now audiobooks are my go-to mode of reading for pleasure. |

Audible also has a lot of audiodrama, which is very much like watching a TV show except there's no picture. Actors perform the various parts and the key here is "perform", not read. The BBC radio networks do regular daily audiodramas, usually a few each day, and Audible gets the best of those to sell.
You can also find them on archive.org. Barry |

I tried Audio Books while working.
I found I needed to be doing a mindless task, like pulling weeds or I would lose track of the story. Unfortunately, the book ended long before the weeds ran low ![]() |
