Kindle Owners Lending Library returns

The last two times I borrowed a book from the Kindle Owners Lending Library, I had to go to the browser and return the previous borrow first. I thought in the past I was able to return and borrow from the same screen. When I borrowed, it would tell me I had to return first, but I could do it from the same screen. Is this just the way it works now? It's a pain. This is using my HD8.

At the beginning of July, I was still able to do it from one screen - i.e. select a new book to borrow, and right there say "yes, return the other one". This is on a Voyage, in case that makes a difference. I'll do the August one soon .....

I don't use my K3 anymore, just the HD8. I remember it working on the K3, but I thought it worked on my HD8 too.

Perhaps the Fire (now?) has a different UI for it.

But the Kindle Touch offers to return the old book, just like it always did. At least as of last night.

Then maybe ask customer service where that option went?

I'm not very fond of their so called customer service.

Also, I'm not completely sure the HD8 allowed me to return and borrow in one step. That's why I am asking here.

But when I tried yesterday ( unsure if I had a july book still) I tried to download the book & got "we are having a problem... if it persists try customer service"..
after a couple of go rounds of that. I went to the web page devices and content, found the july book, returned it, tried the august loan again, same error...
So I figure I'd do the prime loan via the PC web page instead - no such option.
Gave up for a while- tried on the HDX tablet a couple of ours later - all ok.

I wonder if they are phasing this out. there now seems to be no way to see prime lending library eligible books via a PC, and if you check ones that you know are eligible, there is no "prime" icon on book thumbnail

I see the Prime icon on eligible books from a search, but I have noticed them missing in other places. Generally Kindle unlimited books are eligible for a Prime borrow.

I was under the impression that since it was the Kindle Owners lending library users of the PC App couldn't do anything ?

that could be why it's all hidden when I browse the web site from a PC ( not from inside K for PC )
I was hoping for the convenience of browsing their web site on PC with the option of then selecting, I'll borrow that one - send it to my Kindle please...

but no joy.

It used to be possible - I used to have a browser bookmark that went directly to all available PRIME books but I lost it.

you are correct in that once I have borrowed a prime lending book, it will only go to my Kindles, it will not go to Kindle for PC. Once on the Kindle(s) it is sliced, diced and so well obfuscated that there's now way of copying it !
