My review unit arrived.

I don't yet have a BT speaker to test it with, but I can report that Voiceview won't work with the USB accessory.

Well then, what is the point? I have the usb and can use it on my PW3. I thought the new basic was supposed to have the ability built in - ?

Voice view worked with my bluetooth speaker but took a long time (over 2 minutes ) to pair. tried my phone with speaker and paired in less than 10 seconds just to make sure it wasn't a speaker issue. I am also disappointed the usb accessory does not work. That makes no sense..

Amazon lists firmware version 5.8.1.1 for the new basic kindle. Is that the version it ships with?

If not, you may want to update in case there is added functionality.
