kindle 6' touch screen not showing in Calibre

I just bought the Kindle 6' touch screen and it is not showing in calibre (my old kindle worked fine). i have the 0.864 calibre version. I plugged and unplugged and shut down and started calibre again. Is there anything else i can do? I use an older Mac and i couldn't update Calibre to the newest version.

I assume you are referring to the new KT-3?

Support for that was added in the latest version of calibre (v2.62.0) You will need to run a modern version of calibre.

Alternatively, you could download the source code for that calibre release, add this patch then follow the directions to set up a development environment: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/develop.html

There isn't really any good solution for running very outdated operating systems.

I had the same problem with my last K3. All you have to do is open Calibre & Add the touch. Problem is I cant remember the steps... sorry. Hang in there hope some one more techy than me come & helps you.

Had you disabled the Amazon Device plugins?
Did you use 'Ignore Device'? Preferences: Ignored devices: <remove from list>
The device should show at the bottom when connected.
