I looked online at the Voyage and Paperwhite availability at stores in the Tampa Bay area and they are either available for pickup today or Saturday at every one. Perhaps it is a local issue in your area.

Do you mean in the physical stores themselves ?

I was at a Best Buy a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't find the Kindle display, after looking all over, I finally found them, in the back of the store near the back wall. I thought it was odd too. Not only that but I didn't see the IPad's either. I walked around a bit, but ran out of time. I think those were also moved some where else. The only tablet's that were prominently displayed were the Samsung's, and their were a lot of them. Maybe Best Buy made a deal with Samsung ? In North Eastern Connecticut area.

The BestBuy stores in the Miami area have almost no inventory. The Voyager covers are on discount as discontinued. Maybe this is only in South Florida but the feeling I get locally is that the e-ink products are being phased out at BestBuy.

My guess is that they are not selling enough Kindles in that particular store to justify a more prominent display location. If sales are tanking, then they will likely get relegated to an obscure area of the store. I cannot imagine that Kindles sell well in any stores when compared to tablets. Kindles are a tired, aged technology and likely have a small market following these days. The glory days of eInk readers is long past.

According to my local Best Buy, they have the paperwhite in stock but not the Voyage or the Oasis.
You just might have to ask a blue shirt.
Though she sure offered to order me an Oasis.

In the Best Buy store I saw, all the kindles were together, both e-ink & fire tablets. They were placed near the back with clearance items. I checked but none of the Kindles or Fires were on clearance. Also they were all plugged in and working. Just an odd placement, I thought they wanted to have the prime floor space for Samsung. Even the Iphones & Ipads were moved, They weren't where they were before. I didn't have time to look for Kindle & Fire covers, but I'm pretty sure they were moved to the back too.

Kindles are still popular devices, both e ink & tablets, sell well. Perhaps more people are buying them online though.
