OS X: Any Way to disable flashing cursor when editing titles, tags, etc.?

Unfortunately os x lacks an accessibility feature to disable flashing cursors throughout the system.

Firefox includes its own accessibility feature. I'm not sure if Calibre does; "disable animations" doesn't do it. LibreOffice and many other applicationsd lean on system settings because Windows and Linux have such accessibility features.

Textedit, Bean, and a few other applications use one set of text-tools, and there's a hack which allows users to change the frequency:

Most other applications use another set of text-tools, and there's no hack for them.
