Anyone here ever buy a 3G Kindle, then sell or give away?

I'm trying to find out if I had a 3G Kindle, could I give it to a friend and have the 3G still work for her? Does it transfer? Or is one of those things that only works for the first user (like some warranties).

I can't speak authoritatively, but I got a Kindle from a Goodwill charity auction. It had been wiped and reset. After I set it up for my own account the 3G worked fine.
