Automatically downloading Periodical

If I subscribe to a newspaper or a magazine, will my Kindle Oasis automatically wake it self up at night, disable the airplane mode, download a new issue with WI-FI or 3G, re-enable the airplane mode and go back to sleep?

Or do I have to do this manually?

Not if you leave it in airplane mode, no. If you leave WiFi or 3G connected, however, it will download automatically.

Thanks. If I leave the WiFi or 3G connected and then put the device to sleep, would the battery drain faster, even when it is sleeping? How much faster?

Probably a little bit faster, because the Kindle will wake up from time to time to see if there are any pending downloads. The biggest difference, though, will of course be the power consumption when it's awake; having WiFi enabled roughly halves the battery life.
