kindle keyboard not working

hi,

my kindle is brick. not working, plug in charge only yellow light. trying reset, trying remove battery. my kindle not recognized by pc on usb. it never turned on the green light. i do not know where to start to repair. sorry my bad english please help me.

Did you hold the power button for a full 30 seconds, while the K3 was plugged into power? Did you try using Kubrick with it?

Not recognized by PC suggests that it may be in USB Downloader mode. What USB VID/PID is reported by your PC when you plug in the kindle (look in PC USB settings and see what changes when you plug and unplug your kindle USB cable from the PC, then look at hardware ID properties for that device). Or better, examine this from linux (booted from a CD or USB stick)...

hi again, i'm trying full 30 sec, and other power button pressing procedure.

k3 is now downloader mode, my pc is reporting pid, vid: USB\VID_15A2&PID_0030 (SE Blank RINGO)

That is what kubrick needs to see. Try kubrick. My comment about MfgTool does not apply to a K3 (so I removed it from my previous reply).

If Kubrick is not working for you, you still have other options, such as k3flasher or ATK Toolkit, which are described in this thread:

i'm trying atk toolkit. it says: failed to initial flash or do not support this flash please reset the target.

kubrick says: over 1 min~ finished. but still it does not work.

k3flasher not trying. is it necessary RS232 connection with this method?

If all else fails, you may need to use a serial port connection (1.8v TTL, not +/-12v RS232) to fix it.
