kbooksourceicon(?) bugged

Hey all,

I flashed my firmware using the Universal Flasher and have custom fonts. clock, and icons. I noticed, though, that for some reason some of my book info (the stuff on the right side, such as date or author, whatever you're sorting by) parts of the words are obscured by white space. I later figured out that that area is where the picture "sd" or "ms" is shown depending on where the file is stored.

I do not have anything on sd or memory sticks. Have none in the slots. But for some reason, the "ms" icon is shown next to all of my collection/series names when I go into Collections. The icon does not show when I'm looking at individual books. BUT the area where that icon would otherwise be is obscuring some of the letters that show author or date.

This is probably partly because I had to edit my fonts to line up differently (slightly higher than normal) because the korean font setting made lines overlap.

I went through main.xml and I think it is the "kbooksourceicon" that i'm seeing. or not seeing, but still obscuring my letters.

But I'm curious as to why I'm seeing the "ms" label for things not on memory stick, and whether I can just somehow delete that area altogether. For instance, by deleting mention of kbooksourceicon in the string "<skin id="kbookMenu"

ETA: Probably something bad, as I think it might not be kbooksourceicon.. i still cant figure out what it's called, but still looking at the kbookassets.png image and the main.xml file to find out..

Is there a way to raise the location of the sd / ms icon? just a little bit more to the top would do it.

it probably involves hacking the xml layout files from what i see

yeah, ended up fixing it by fiddling with font settings. Still don't know why I see an "ms" icon next to my Collections, though..

I think i got this bug too. I had to rebuilt my collections to fix it.

Hmm interesting, good tip. I did notice that my Collections were persisting on my Reader through hard resets and firmware upgrades. Thanks!

Nothing I've tried yet has fixed the problem. I deleted the media.xml file, and deleted the collection itself from calibre and reassigned it to the books. What else can I do? Collections still show up as "ms" ..?? Bah, still can't open Ebook Library at all either.

Try this: start the book library, then ctrl + alt + delete to kill it. then start it again. It worked for me :-).

That used to work for me, but no longer does. It just runs as a process taking approx 38k of memory and won't actually pop up.

I found this to be the case only with collections transfered with Calibre.
When i use the Sony ebook Library software, i don't see the icon.

I suspected it was a Calibre thing,.. it didn't happen before, so maybe a new bug. I'll note it on the Calibre forum. I couldn't test it because my Ebook Library doesn't work.. not a big loss, though.. haha
