Books imported with no format problem
I have been unable to find any way to keep calibre from importing books with no format. I end up having to delete huge chunks of books that have a blank format field. Is there a way to keep these empty books from importing

How do you import those books? If you import physical ebooks (epubs, mobis, what-have-you), I see no way for that to happen; the imported book should always be there as a format.

Your Format field is probably a USER field. Formats (the official field) is never a column. The USER field may have been populated using bulk S&R. That needs to be done for the empty values

Formats shows in details and on the Information window.

To find books that really do NOT have any format: formats: false in the search bor
