Errors tranferring large numbers of books

I have a Kobo Glo which doesn't "Glo" anymore, but still functions in all other aspects. I am using it as a backup and transferring 750 book blocks and getting errors everytime. here is just one:
calibre, version 2.52.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

Error -3 while decompressing: invalid distance too far back

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 87, in run
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 584, in _upload_books
File "calibre_plugins.kobotouch_extended.device.driver" , line 280, in upload_books
File "site-packages/calibre/devices/kobo/driver.py", line 1918, in upload_books

File "site-packages/calibre/utils/localunzip.py", line 158, in copy_compressed_file
error: Error -3 while decompressing: invalid distance too far back

There is a total of about 10,000 books and I get some sort of error after every single 750 book transfer.

That appears to be an error while trying to open the EPUB for modification. Is it possible the ebooks are corrupted -- can you open the library copies in an ereader app of some sort (not calibre, it uses the same backend code either way!)

Ebooks are fine.

The files will open in another application (Firefox extension) and I can transfer smaller blocks without errors s. It seems to be related to transfers of larger numbers of books. Possibly if one of the books is corrupt it fubars the whole transfer.

That's an error in the kobotouch extended plugin, you should post it in that plugins thread, to ensure its developer sees it.

Yes, it's something happening in the KoboTouchExtended driver. Whether it is to do with the number of books being sent, or a problem with the book it is up to, I can't tell.

But, the line numbers in the errors do not match the current version of the KoboTouchExtended driver. Make sure you are running the latest version of the driver. Hopefully the problem will be fixed, but if you aren't running the current version, the author probably won't be able to help.
