Help! SD card in device not detected

I was working with Calibre today and everything went fine for many hours. After restarting my PC, Calibre didn't detect the SD card in Pocketbook Touch Lux 2 anymore. I even did a system backup restore and changed my antivirus software. Same problem. The card shows up in Windows explorer and other programs but not in Calibre.

System is Windows 7 64bit with the current version of Calibre.
I checked ignored devices and the device plugin, everything seems to be fine.

The card may now be corrupt or failed.

Can the Device read the card (ie. existing Books)

Can Calibre see the DEVICE (main storage)
Can Windows see the card?

Have you restarted the device

It was a problem with a faulty USB adapter. Using another port, calibre recognized the card again. Unfortunately, the old port doesn't seem to work properly anymore. Only the main storage shows up.

It was a problem with a faulty USB device which totally messed up my system. I uninstalled all USB device entries and that did the trick. Phew!
