Viewer window size in Win 7
Why is it that resized ebook viewer window is not retained when reopened? By definition, this is a Windows service that applications use to remember previous session settings. The default window is too small, and I don't want full screen. I see no setting for this, so it means either that this fundamental code is not in calibre viewer or there's an issue I've never encountered before. It doesn't seem to matter if I open it via calibre or directly.

Because the user may not have set that option in the viewer preferences: Miscellaneous (section)

![]() I actually thought I looked at all the settings in all the categories...but I am mortified to realize I totally missed that little check box. Feel free to ignore any further questions I post, like the one about if there are color choice configurations for the light grey background surrounding the text window in viewer that I'm thinking of posting. ![]() ![]() |

Also, looked at config files (json) and I'm going to have to change the settings for color in Windows itself, a trial and error task. Much like writing. ![]() |

And maybe there's something in here that you can use or adapt ==>> Custom CSS Stylesheets for Calibre's Viewer BR Last edited by BetterRed; 03-01-2016 at 06:07 PM. |

By the way, and I'm going to research this if you don't know: Is there a global way to search and replace extra spaces before punctuation for an entire book? I'm surprised how often this shows up in ebooks. As an editor, this is quite distracting to me. ![]() |

Preferences provide overrides for some IMHO the Calibre book editor is the best way to edit out unwanted artifacts. You could try during a conversion, but... it is so much easier to fix HTML code that you can really see |

Well, the Editor does have a global Search And Replace feature, so the solution will be whatever regex you can write (or get help with) which matches the particular style of unwanted spaces.
And of course it depends whether the spaces are or standard spaces in the body text, or padding applied via CSS. ... This kind of question is perhaps best asked in our Editor subforum. |

The editor works fine for 1 file, all text files or a group of (selected) files inside the book
\s < regex for any space type char |
