Kindle Paperwhite - Book Covers disappear
Hey everyone.
I've got my new Kindle Paperwhite and tried to fill it with my own .azw3-Books over Calibre.

I completed all the metadata, bookcovers included. At first they appear, but if I restart the device or use the sleepcover, they are almost completely gone.

I tried different methods to solve this (Turn on "Enable Sharing", embed the covers, download complete new covers in different sizes or reset the whole Kindle) - none if them gets it fixes.

Is this solvable, got anyone some usable tips for me..? Or just a terrific bug without patch?

OS and Calibre are both the newest updated version.

I experienced similar case few months ago. I finally reset the kindle, and send back the books to device (via Callibre) slowly, about 10 books every 30 minutes, to give time for Kindle for indexing the contents.

You can try recover your book cover thumbnails with ExtractCoverThumbs: https://github.com/quiris11/ExtractC...eleases/latest

I'm fully aware that is false positive but it is even Windows Defender started to consider it a malware. So it is real QA problem and it need to be fixed.

If you using pyexe you need to recompile bootstrappers. Don't use py2exe ready binaries/wheels - compile it from source in your build environment.

Then check your application exe with https://www.virustotal.com/
If that not help - replace pyexe with pyinstaller.

EDIT:
My bad - you apparently using pyinstaller already.

Sorry if my report was a "false positive". I did not see any notes about it anywhere. As the other poster said Defender would not let it run on my windows 10 pc. I love this utility and appreciate your work.
