KTerm & Python Issues
First off, thanks to BD, Niluge, and the entire dev community for the 5.6.5 jb. (and also my K4 jailbreak WAY back in the day! :P )
I'm only an enthusiast when it comes to Kindle tinkering, but I thought it'd be fun to check out the terminal and maybe even make some fun python scripts if possible. Problem is, when I try to launch KTerm from KUAL, the display just blinks then returns to the home screen. I saw knc1's github link at the end of the KTerm thread, but I'm not sure what to do with it :/ I also installed dos1's Python extension, and the lib suggested by jue but I have no idea how to use it... Hope someone is willing to help ![]() |

Go back to the Kterm download page, and download the version for fw>=5.6.5

Oh wow, that was embarrassingly easy xD Thanks eschwartz! I'm playing around in python as I'm typing this
![]() For anyone else who is as silly as me, the download page is here. >>edit It seems the pygtk module isn't working for me :/ Normal .py files run fine but the gtk-test.py throws out "ImportError: No module named pygtk" Last edited by aBP; 02-10-2016 at 02:29 PM. |

That sounds like you are using the wrong python installation. What are the chances that you accidentally ran gtk-test.py using, say, NiLuJe's python2 build which goes together with the screensavers hack?
(Hint: the reason for dos1's build is because NiLuJe's doesn't come with pygtk.) |

And since mine in setting up symlinks all over the place, a generic python callling (usually /bin/env python) shebang will most likely point to mine
