What's the best way to put [specific, linked, badly formatted] web article to Kindle?
Preferably with offline tools? Such as Calibre. I'm lazy to create a Kindle account now just for this.
Here's the article: http://lifehacker.com/productivity-1...ali-1687948640 My usual tools are: 1. Calibre (this alone works 97% of the time) 2. If it does not work, the problem many times, such as this time is, the text is light gray, barely readable on the Kindle. If this is the case, then I copy-paste the text from the web to a LibreOffice text document, I adjust the text color to be black, import to Calibre and it's done. Now in this case it's not working, as the article might be in some stupid frame, which looks funny (bad) copy pasted into LibreOffice. What to do if I prefer to read it on the device, not on the computer's screen? There needs to be a way. Pls. note. I'm not a HTML expert. |

If you have a Kindle, how do you not already have an Amazon account? If your Kindle isn't registered, just register it. Then you could email the text or html to the Kindle.
If the data is in a frame, editing the text as html should show that. You could also use the Firebug plugin for firefox to see the web page's html in detail. That would tell you if it is in a frame. You should be able to selectively select just the text in one frame, not using Firebug, just the browser. Frame is a very specific term in html. Are you sure it isn't in a table? |

Susan,
1. I bet you didn't dare to click on my link. So thank for trying to help - but in this way, it turned out to be a little less helpful. ![]() 2. Do you suggest if I register and use the 'Send to Kindle' feature, it will automatically solve all table issues - which simply adding the raw HTML page to Calibre does not solve? |

Open account on kindle and on Instapaper. Last deals with different kind of web articles pretty well. It has option to send articles to Kindle manually or automatically in form of magazine.

I've just sent this Lifehacker article via Instapaper and it looks OK.
You can use Instapaper without Kindle account, there's a feature "Download" which generates MOBI/EPUB files. |

Thanks for the Instapaper recommendation! Actually, before asking this question, I totally forgot about I already know another, similar answer: the GrabMyBooks extension for Firefox/Chrome. Probably Instapaper works in a similar fashion. anyways, the extension did the trick this time.

Does https://dotepub.com work? Might be an alternative if you wanna stay offline with your Kindle...
