Energy Sistem Ereader Pro+ Flip Cover Bug
Hello, i have just purchased an Ereader Pro+ with flip cover.
When i close flip cover, volume go up or pages go forward if i am reading a book. This happen because flip cover press the left buttons. Now i have solved the problem putting two thin rubbers on the cover. But i don't like it: It is possible to set left buttons to "Sleep" and right buttons to page up/doen, or to disable only the left buttons? Thanks, bye. I have also recently bought an Ereader Pro + and note the same problem. yesterday I re-opened the case and found the book I was reading had advanced to the end. Finding where I had left of wasn't easy
![]() It appears you need to put the reader in standby before closing the cover. As a Kobo Glo user where closing the cover puts the reader in standby this has come as a bit of an annoyance. BobC |

Energy Sistem techical support want back the cover and the ereder to test. They already send me another cover with the same problem of the first.
I think that there is a stock of defective cover. |

Out of interest what version of software is on your EReader - the photo you posted looks like a different home screen to mine.
Thanks for the update on Energy Sistems - let us know what happens so I can raise an issue with them if it is the flip cover. I'd rather not be sending mine back till I know there's a solution. BobC |

@bruceas
Any progress with the original problem - I see you have mentioned it on the ES forum as well. I've raised a query with them about the same issue and they have asked for photographs to illustrate the problem which I have just sent off. I've also noticed sometime the <back> button gets pressed resulting in the book being read getting closed and the reader going back to the menu. I've taken some measurements and in its cover the reader thickness measures 1.25mm adjacent to the buttons but 1.30mm to the top surface of the buttons. It's not surprising they get pressed when the cover is closed. BobC |

They send me another cover but this is like the first one. When i close it, pages are turned.
I think that all their covers are defective. I have asked them to send me a video of a working cover, because i don't think it exist :-) And i suggested them to modify the cover design adding a spacer like mine in first post. Two weeks without ereader for nothing :-( |

What is surprising is that they needed your reader and case back to see the problem. It's obvious that the cover will press the buttons by examining any reader/cover.
To my mind they have designed to cover to be as slim as possible. The reader should fit deeper onto the cover so that the cover edge is higher than the top of the buttons, not just above the edge of the reader case. In your case it seem to be the left-hand side buttons that get pressed, in mine it is the right-hand side ones, which is why mine sometimes exits the book. I had to laugh at their reply to you on their own forum that the problem came with you closing the case with your left hand - talk about clutching at straws. I'm wondering if anyone makes a case for the device under the Boyue or other brand name. BobC P.S. Looked on AliExpress and the Boyue covers there seem to be identical with the Energy Sistems ones. Looks like ES just buy in a generic cover from a Chinese manufacturer and have no control over its design. I think as you mention the only answer will be some form of stick-on buffer. There's not a problem with either the cover or reader - you need to put the reader to sleep before closing the cover. As long as the reader is awake the buttons will function. It would be nice if a cover that put it to sleep was available, but there isn't one.

I understand that putting it to sleep before closing the cover would prevent the problem but so would having a cover designed so that it wouldn't press the buttons. If this was some sort of generic cover I could understand the issue arising but as this is a cover supposedly designed for the reader I would expect it to work in a seamless manner or else have the deficiency noted in User Instructions. Perhaps my expectations are different from yours, mine being conditioned by EU Consumer Law regarding fitness for purpose. BobC |

Sorry, I thought the button was pressed onky for the length of time you were holding the reader after you closed the cover. If it stays pressed all the time it definitely is a problem! I would think it would run the battery down too. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
