Count chars in title, sorting?

It seems that it would help me a lot if i could count the chars of all titles and sort for the number of chars while certain groups of books have much longer titles than others.

Is there a plugin for that, please?

No there isn't.

But you can create a catalog of your library:
Right-click "Convert books" ==> "Create a catalog of the books in your calibre library"

One of the options is CSV, which you can then import into a spreadsheet program (e.g. MS Excel).
I think this is best done in a spreadsheet program anyway.

Pick eschwartz idea
most spreadsheets have some sort of Len( ) that you can use to fill another column

@anjade2 - Template language has a strlen function,

Code:
class calibre.utils.formatter_functions.BuiltinStrlen[source]

    strlen(a) – Returns the length of the string passed as the argument
Pretty sure that could be used to populate the value of an integer custom column (#titlelen) with value of strlen(title)

BTW I moved 4 of your threads out of the Plugin subforum into Library Management.

As Wilde might have put it "“To mispost one thread may be regarded as a misfortune; but to mispost four threads looks like carelessness.”

Why does it matter - because someone looking for threads relating to lets say 'moving books', wouldn't expect to find them in the Plugins subforum.

Too true.
Easily done with a custom column built from other columns.
Code:
{title:strlen()}
