Updated to Android 6.0 on phone; can't access CC

I'mEver since upgrading my phone to Android 6.0 recently, I have not been able to access my Calibre library through CC. Every time I attempt to access my library, whether through the content server, as a wireless device or via the Cloud, I immediately receive an error message that CC cannot connect because the files are stored in a read-only folder. I was previously able to access my Calibre database on my phone and am still able to access it on my tablet (which still has KitKat), but I cannot access it on my phone. I tried resetting the connection, but still receive the same error message.

I have tried unchecking the "read only" box in Windows, and it appears to apply this characteristic, but when I next open the directory the "read only" box is again checked.

Why would CC be unable to read the same directory in Lollipop that it is able to read in KitKat? Is there a workaround to this problem, or might it be fixed in a future CC update? After having only recently uploaded my Calibre Library to the cloud and using CC to access it, I would very much hate to suddenly lose access due to an operating system quirk.

Please advise how I can resolve this problem. Thanks in advance for any information you may provide.

First, I am assuming that the device is not rooted, you upgraded from Kitkat, and are using CC's private folder on the SD card. If one of these is not true then the problem comes from another area.

This is not a CC bug. Android on the device is telling CC that the location is read-only.

Several CC users (for example here) and have reported this kind of problem with upgrades, often on Samsung devices. During the upgrade Android gets confused about the permissions on the SD card and won't permit CC to access it. Often the problem is solved by uninstalling and reinstalling CC (be sure to back up the library first. See here and here.). In some cases the problem can be solved by asking CC to move the library off the SD card to main memory, deleting CC's private folder on the SD card, then asking CC to move the library back to the SD card. Sometimes it requires reformatting the SD card.

Another (slim) possibility is that the path to the SD card changed during the upgrade. Verify that the path stored by CC in Settings / Formats and Folders is the actual path to the library on the SD card. You can do this using a file manager, trying to navigate to the folder path component by component.

Chaley- all is well now thanks to your help. Android 6 uses a different default directory on the SD card, and once I selected that directory, everything works as it should. Thanks for your help, and thanks for an excellent app.
