Kobo Glo Frontlight flickering.
I am recently experiencing an intermittent flicker in the light when I use it between 20% to 40% intensity. If I raise it to 90% or 100%, or reduce it to 1-2%, the light seems to become stable. Could it be a sort of loose connection to LEDs or something?
I use good sleepcovers and the device has not experienced any physical shocks or drops recently. Apparently, there is no physical damage. Due to problematic eyes I can not read from the device with more bright light. A 20 - 30% feels quite comfortable in the daytime, and 1 - 3% in a dark bedroom at night. But this new issue is keeping me annoyed with. Reading with flickering lights is driving me nuts. Any suggestions please? |

Have you restarted it?
Otherwise I have no clue. |

I've had an occasional frontlight flicker on my Glo recently, I found that turning it up to full brightness for a few seconds and then back down to where it was stopped it.
I normally read with the frontlight at about 10% in full darkness, or 20%-30% in bad light, or with it turned completely off in good light. It has only happened a few times over the last few months, so it is not a problem for me at all yet, but I think it could be a sign the device is aging. |

Yes. Several times, even a factory reset doesn't help.

My earlier thought about a loose connection to LED's is also ruled out, because in that case, the flicker must generate even on 100% intensity or so. This is something strange, I guess. However, sliding the light up and down sometimes makes the thing stable. It has to be a hardware issue anyhow, IMO. ![]() |

Mine is about 40 months old now, the first time I saw the flicker was a few months ago.
