Never heard of them before but it's not looking good. Their Facebook page has a "Sorry, this information isn't available right now" message -- and it's a blank page. Their Twitter page has a "Sorry, that page doesn't exist" message. Unless they're planning on relaunching (or something) it's look like they're down for the count. (I guess it's possible that they had never really set up Facebook or Twitter -- but isn't there a minimum that has to be displayed on a Facebook account?)

Never heard of them. What are / were they? A bookshop? A writer's club? Vendor of some sort of writing software?

edit: Google still has some stuff in its cache. It seems to be (have been) a company assisting in self-publishing books.

... they were basically another Smashwords or (another outfit I never heard of) Draft 2 Digital. Someone claimed they had direct Amazon support -- which seems a bit dubious. At any rate, for whatever reason, they seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth.

EDIT: It looks like they just opened for business on November 15th -- so maybe they're just having teething problems.

I haven't heard back from them yet. I'll try again at these emails: admin, support, sales, root, administrator@novelpal.com.

They were a place to sell your books but there would be no fees to authors. Not sure how that would work. Many people are finding that ad revenue alone is not enough for a long-term plan.

Tax shelter perhaps? The US has one of the higher business tax rates in the industrialized countries, so more and more companies are just leaving. Not to mention the crazy unions in the US (UAW, AFL-CIO).

This is why several companies have moved to Texas and North Carolina. Both are "right to work" states.
