Question about Kindle Gift books

If you intend to give a kindle formatted ebook from Amazon as a gift, can the information necessary to claim that gift be printed on a card, or is an electronic part required?

Mom wants to give my sister-in-law a book, which I will need to facilitate. I suppose I could have Amazon send the gift email on Christmas, but Mom would be more comfortable with a card. Could I just print the email (have it sent to me) and include it in a card?

I am honestly not sure as I just get emails saying I have been gifted a book.
Now silly question, does your sister have a kindle or kindle app?
Oh and one other little detail.
Your sister does not have to get the book. She can click a button and just get a gift card in the amount the book cost the buyer.

If you choose the option to send the gift to your own email, then there's a code on a page that you can print out along with what book it's for, and then the recipient will just follow the redeem instructions and type it into her own account.

Even using that code, she still doesn't have to get that book.

How to gift an ebook,
Log into your Amazon account.
Go to the book page
Click on "give as a gift"
Fill in the required information.

Then if you put in your SIL's email she will get the code and a link.
Oh and you do not have to send to the email attached to her Amazon account.

Now I do not know if Amazon offers physical announcement cards but they do sell and send physical gift cards.
