Calibre with "empty" folders (no ebook file)
My Mac crashed recently so I'm rebuilding my Calibre library (v2.43.0). I have a giant Dropbox folder of all my ebooks (organized by Author - ebook) so I used "Add books from multiple directories--including sub-directories (multiple books per directory)" to load them into the new, empty Calibre library.
About two third of the books loaded properly but the rest only have the jpeg cover and opf metadata file, no mobi or epub. I went back to the original Dropbox folder and the epub (or mobi) would be there. What gives? I know I can use edit metadata to add the missing file, but I have a couple hundreds missing ones. I don't mind starting over if I can add them all back in but what was I doing wrong the first time? ![]() Thank you for any insight! Last edited by Orionpkmyz; 11-09-2015 at 09:18 PM. Reason: Edit to add: there was no error message after I ran "Add books" |

Did you Pause Syncing before you added the books from the Dropbox directory or was syncing still running? Theoretically you shouldn't need to pause syncing but anytime I'm using Calibre to access more than a couple files stored in Dropbox I always pause it just to be safe.
