How to tell if my Kindle is rooted
I rooted my Kindle Paperwhite (2013) a long time ago, but then it has silent updated a couple of times, do I lose the root with the updates? How can I check if it's still rooted?

Answer to the question is:
Put one of our update_*.bin packages that is intended for your model of Kindle, in the root of your Kindle's USB storage, then: home -> menu -> settings -> menu if you can install that, your jail broken. Better yet: Run the hotfix before doing anything else: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho....php?p=3004892 It will either recover your old, out-of-date, jail break or do no harm. |
