Is there anything like cydia for kindle?
I recently jailbroke my kindle and I mostly like it so far but I don't like having to get my computer whenever I want to install something. I was wondering if there was a store for the programs that not only puts it all in one place, but also lets me install them without my computer.
If there isn't, I will give a crack at making it because I don't think it would be that hard. All it needs to do is list the programs, download the packages and install them. |

MrPI is a batch mode installer. Put everything you want installed in /mrpackages, at the same time, and trigger MrPI once. = = = = The only true protection a Kindle user has from harmful or malicious packages is the fact that a human (the owner) must be involved in installing each package. The "central distribution point" is already a single place, this forum. How do you plan to get the human to read the directions for each package to be installed? The directions are packed with each package and included in the distribution post. We can't force anyone to RTFM - But we certainly do not want to encourage people to skip reading the directions by over automation. And who is going to be in charge of keeping the pool of packages current? Who is going to provide and maintain the hosting? Who is going to pay for it? Yourself? That is a lot of trust and responsibility to put in one person. Why would we want someone who has only made a single post on the site, has been a member for less than a day and uses nothing newer than a K3 to be that trustee? |

I was just wondering if existed. It would be easy to make, yes but as you said, it's better that they read the directions. |

Not everyone uses the same license, but they all qualify as "Open Source" licenses. Not a site rule or forum guideline, just by mutual assent of the contributors. The Amazon/Lab126 firmware is the only closed source that we deal with, they provide more than enough. |

@aaronius: I would really encourage you to go ahead and create a KUAL addon which downloads and puts-in all *.bin hacks from our MR to /mnt/us/mrpackages folder and then trigger MrPI to install them!

Such packages are released by attachment to the first post of their release thread. When updated, the attachment link URL changes, breaking your downloader. The few packages that are not released by attachment to the first post of their release thread, also have a new URL for each new release. That leaves your downloader fetching the out-of-date package rather than the newly updated one. |

A free-hosted site is what I would try. Hosters like 000webhost.com offer that

Here is a list of 542 people you can sign up for a free web-site:
https://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/death_r...offenders.html Since you probably do not want to get the credit for your work in this case - Start out with 542 (free) VPN accounts, just so things don't (easily) trace back to you: https://hide.me/en/ You might also give all of them nice (free) social media pages. And of course, you'll want each of them to have a (free) e-mail address. - - - - - That should be a nice 'network scripting' exercise. Let me know if you get any complaints from the 542 (deceased) clients of yours. Last edited by knc1; 06-17-2017 at 10:30 AM. |
