I've never seen the need for me to get a Prime membership, but I've used Amazon.com more in last couple of months, so I may have to look into it. There just isn't a good essential oil supplier in my area, and I pretty much refuse to use youngliving because of their prices. I need to check out the prime offerings on what I need and see what Prime videos has to offer, as well.

I wondered if they would have another $75 offer, shortly after I signed up, but I didn't imagine that it could be any less than that. Especially since they had just gone up in price from $75 to $99, what, a year or so ago? Arrgghh! I'll have to look into gifting myself another year.

I signed up for Prime for the first time a few months ago. I wasn't sure that I would use it enough or save enough money with it to make it worth my while. I put pencil to paper (actually fingers to calculator buttons), however, and saw that the cost per month was only $8.25 (the downside--I had to pay for a year, in advance). The free 2-day (business day) shipping was the thing that sealed the deal. Personally, I have liked and much used the 2-day free shipping. The $35 minimum for free shipping was not cost-effective, and was a hassle and aggravation, for me. I was buying stuff that I really didn't need in order to get the free shipping. It was aggravating to have to plan so far ahead to order certain items (mainly disposables/consumables)--Amazon's free shipping could be really slow (one reason was that sometimes they had the order for several days before shipping--they don't dare do that when they have to deliver in 2 days!). Because of the free shipping, though, I am buying much more from Amazon than I did before, but that's okay because they are things that I would have bought somewhere anyway and Amazon's prices are usually competitive. To me, the other benefits are almost useless. The only two that I feel are even worth mentioning are Prime music and Prime video, and neither one of them have a lot of the more recent and/or popular music/movies. I do like documentaries and, having looked over what they've got, I see some possibilities there, though. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 09-22-2015 at 07:13 PM.

Then I looked over my Prime membership information under my "Account." Nothing there seems like it would be a problem. You can have them send you a message letting you know when it is about to expire, before it auto-renews. Okay, you can cancel it then. Later in the day, maybe the next day, you can use your gift to yourself to start a new Prime membership. Does anyone see a snag that could come up there?

Oh gawd, please don't laugh at me, but how do you cancel auto renewal? The only options I see are to get the three day reminder notice before renewal, or to 'end membership'. What am I missing? |

Manage Your Prime Membership --> End Membership --> End Membership --> When do you want to end your membership? End Now -- You do not qualify for a refund and will not benefit from canceling your membership at this time. End Later --Your benefits will continue until (date), after which your card will not be charged and your membership will end. Choose End Later and hit the "End on date" button. ps: send me a banana and I won't laugh

D'ohhh...I did click the first End Membership screen but I was scared if I hit the second i'd be cast into the wilderness with no more 2-day shipping, like, NOW! Thank you, Monkey, I'm off to look at the Subscribe & Save options to find a weekly banana delivery for ya... In the meantime, please accept some karma and my sincere thanks! |

That freaked me out the first time I tried it. Then I read where others said to continue hitting End Membership and that it'll do it a couple of times. Amazon's doing their best to keep people signed up for auto renewal with such menacing language.
