How to get rid of Digital Editions folder on Aura H2O

Hello,

can anybody suggest me please how to get rid of Digital Editions folder on Kobo Aura H2O?

I've installed Adobe Digital Editions a while ago just to try it as a library manager.
Then completely deleted form the system (mac os x). Corresponding folder in Documents also deleted. Did factory reset to Kobo.
I uploading books to Kobo with Finder, but after I open the book on reader, I see again Digital Editions in the file system and xml files created for the books I opened. I've tried to delete it manually and did factory reset again, but when I connect Kobo to computer, I see this folder again.

This is not a big problem, just annoying... I do not plan to use Digital Edition in the near future.

Thanks

If it is missing, the Digital Editions directory will be re-created every time you open a new ePub, regardless of whether the ePub was loaded with ADE.

This is because the ePub reader is built on Adobe's Reader Mobile kit (RMSDK). If you only read KePubs then a different reader is used and the directory won't be created.

The RMSDK is also used for PDFs, so the directory will get recreated if you open a PDF.

Thank you very much.
Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to ereaders and this system
Do I understand correctly, that Digital Editions directory is not related to Adobe Digital Editions software, which I had? This directory is created by Kobo?

It is confusion with the folder's name.

I see some users have also .kobo, .adobe-digital-editions and Digital Editions directories.

Yes it is created by the Kobo device, although ADE will use it too.

I see some users have also .kobo, .adobe-digital-editions and Digital Editions directories.
The .kobo directory is where most of the device's data is stored, including books synced from Kobo's servers, and the main database containing the metadata for all books including sideloaded books. All devices should have this directory, if not then something is badly wrong.

The .kobo-images directory is where cover images and thumbnails are stored. All devices should have this directory too, unless they are running an old firmware version.

The .adobe-digital-editions directory is created by ADE if you authorise the device for Adobe DRM.

Following the name, I think those directories has something to do with Kobo books or side loaded KePubs? I do not have them yet and I do not have those directories created.
I'm running last version of firmware. For now I have only open ePubs loaded. The only directory I have is Digital Editions. Something badly wrong?

Filenames beginning with a dot are not shown by default on some systems.

E.g. on unix-based systems you need to use 'ls -a' to show all files, ones beginning with a dot won't be shown if you just use 'ls'.
