Marvin lives!

Just an FYI for those of you who don't follow Kris/Marvin's Twitter feed. After 6 months of radio silence, Kris started posting up a storm earlier today. Apparently, Marvin 3 is nearing beta with 150 improvements including vertical scrolling, iPad Pro/split screen support, improved EPUB 3 support and more. No firm timeline but "soon".

Any word on changes to facilitate the Marvin XD calibre plugin?

I suspect that that is one of if not the biggest thing Marvin users here have been desperate for.

GAWD! I hate vertical scrolling. I hope its an option rather than a replacement of the existing system.

Yes - I believe it is. IIRC Kris wasn't in favor of it either (vertical scrolling) but had enough requests from people who absolutely had to have it, that I think he added it as an option. Can't wait to see it to know for sure!

This is good news, I would like sync to work again between iPad and iPhone. Native iPad Pro support, especially split screen would be nice too.

I think to get the Calibre plugin to work, Marvin needed to change where it stored the data, as Apple locked down some of the app areas marking them as off limits to external programs. It may be that the new version moves the user data to an unrestricted zone and we could have Calibre connectivity back. [crosses fingers]

My sync has been working recently between the iPad and iPhone. You have to tap the "sync button" on the lower right corner.

I think my problem is that now that books are added via OPDS feed rather than Calibre helper it thinks they are different books on each device. Possibly. I haven't looked into it in detail.

I'm already in touch with Kris about that. I want to get them to work again, too. :-)

I second that. Will you be able to make the necessary changes to the IOSRA plugin?

Great! The libimobiledevice library should be OK as it is.
