Content server -can connect to via ipad but not iphone

I started the content server and I could NOT connect with my iphone (on wifi) to 192.168.1.13:8080
I tried with the Ipad and it immediately connected
I restarted content server and could not connect - error msg on iphone says "Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding"

I tried removing password on content server but same error

I looked through forums and could not see anything about this
I have an iphone 5s w ios 8.4.1

Help!!

I'm assuming you mean the Calibre content server? Its working OK here with my 5S and 8.4.1 :-/

Have you tried rebooting your phone? That will sometimes fix temporary glitches. Rebooting the server, too, and making sure you have the right IP address for it...

well....i tried what you had said several days ago...but today when I tried it it worked !

It can be a bit erratic. And if you get disconnects with your modem, then you might have a new IP without knowing it. I havent set an IP for my mac mini within my ADSL modem. I porbably should. I get this where the hell is the server issue from time to time not only with Calibre but also with Plex. Go into the other room, and find out the IP has changed. grrr.
