Aura HD Annotation problem 3.17.3

I have noticed, since upgrading to firmware 2.17.3, that when I select a word towards the bottom of a page, the dictionary definition will sometimes obscure the word rather than appearing at the top of the page so that the word, definition, and popup icons can all be seen. See attached image, showing the problem. Sometimes the popup icons that one can use to select Highlight, Add Note, etc are also completely obscured.

It doesn't happen every time, but it happens often enough to be annoying. I can't recall this problem ever happening with previous versions of firmware.

Did you upgrade to 2.17.3 or 3.17.3? If the latter, I could fix the title and post for you.

I guess it's safe to fix, accoridng to firmware thread, 2.17.3 never existed.

I've tried numerous times to duplicate what you're seeing, but always the definition box appears at the top if I highlight a word towards the bottom. I couldn't ever get it to pop up at the bottom covering up a word near the end of the page no matter how many times I tried and on different pages in different books.

I'm on a Glo HD with 3.17.3 and GeoffR's patch installed, but I don't recall anything specific in the patch for that issue.

Maybe it's reader specific and only affects the Aura HDs?

I just tried on my Aura HD, and couldn't reproduce it with either a regular epub or a kepub.

I haven't seen this on any of my devices. My guess would be that there is a combination of font, font size and exactly where the word is that is selected. Because of the ghosting, I can see where the selected word is. Does it happen on roughly that line all the time? Or is the position variable?

Sorry, I should have said F/W 3.17.3, not 2.17.3.

I tried to reproduce the problem again by highlighting various words in the last half dozen lines on a page, and got the problem once in about eight attempts. As I said, it's intermittent. Doesn't seem to be related to a particular line on the page - as you can see from the images, this word is on a different line from the word in the previous image, and the highlighting is completely obscured by the popup definition.

From those pictures, I've have to agree. One thing I do see is that there is a big than expected gap at the bottom. That is probably because the default widows and orphans settings are being used, but there is a bug were the last line of the paragraph is sometimes pushed to the next page. Any chance that is what is happening here?

Also, if this happens, and you try a word near it, does it happen for that word as well? Or for the same word again? Or if you turn the page and come back?
