Any idea how (& where to look) to make Kindle PW1 "forget" username/password for WiFI signal/SSID it connected previously , using SSH/USBNetwork? Factory reset is not an option, I've got numerous hack installed
![]() ![]() My father is using my old PW1 with fw 5.4.4 (which I kept after buying PW300dpi only so I can periodically use it for KOreader, for reading non-fiction PDFs; so I wan't to make 200% sure it will not connect to my home WiFi), and twice already I've noticed that he managed to turn off Airplane mode ![]() I have both Backdoor lock and "update.bin.tmp.partial" / "update.bin.partial" folders in place, but still... |

In normal operation, there is only one **persistent** writable place in the tree: /var/local.
Well, other than the storage you see over USB - and I assume you looked there already. If it doesn't go away with a system restart (long press of power button > 20 seconds) - then it is somewhere in /var/local. Its name should make it obvious. |

Well, you can "Forget" a network -- turn on WIFi, wait for it to connect to the network, then tap on the network name in the list of networks (it will have a check next to it
![]() Alternatively, I *think* the passwords are saved in /var/local/system/wifid.conf (encrypted blob) |

![]() Ok, that's done then. Removed both SSIDs (home and office across the street), so PW1 is safe from the old man ![]() Thank you. |
