E-reader to read webpages
Hi everyone!
It may seem strange looking for an e-reader to surf the internet but here's the situation: I'm studying English and I'd like a device e-reader- like (for the display) able to surf newspapers' websites etc. If possible with Android - it is very useful its function that allows the reader to tap and search for a word on the dictionary. I have a kindle paperwhite which is very good for my eyes but not to do what I want to. I thought Onyx M96 might be a good choice, any suggestion? |

From what I've read around here, the Onyx Android tablets with e-ink screens are probably your best bet.

yes, this is what I heard too, however, I just wanted to know if anyone had direct experience with Onyx M96; it costs 300€ and I've read very contrasting opinions about this device.

The free chrome extension send to kindle (by http://www.klip.me/) will simplify layout of articles and send to your Kindle. So, you surf the web on your PC and capture stuff, then push interesting stuff and use your kindle as a list of stuff to read
Not exactly what you wanted, but I think might be a really good solution for you. |

For surfing the web, eInk Readers really don't cut it. Get a tablet for web surfing.

Yup. Or surf for the articles on a tablet or laptop/desktop, then send to Pocket (for Kobo) or Send to Kindle, or your other clippings service of choice depending on your ereader and its capabilities.

I browse regularly on a rooted Nook ST. Android is the way to go. Make sure you get a device that supports A2 refresh mode. Its a monochrome mode that stops eink flashing. This makes a huge difference when scrolling. I think I read the A2 mode on the Onyx is not great. You should ask in the Onyx forum, obviously... Also consider the Boyue.

I think I found a solution; I signed up for the kindle version of the Telegraph and I get it directly on my Paperwhite.

Look at this and see if you would like it properly formatted in eInk:
http://www.readingthenet.com/bookoftheweb To preview on a PC, you will need to download the .mobi file and then open it in Calibre (free download at calibre-ebook.com; software is much discussed on this site). In addition to newspapers, you'll see that you can read this forum with it. |
