Turn on the light with the power button

Hi all,

I have a hard time turning on the light of my Kobo Glo HD in the dark. The only way I can find to turn it on is by using the on screen icons, which are a bit hard to find when it's dark.

Is it possible to use the power button to turn on the light? Or any other way?

Thanks!

If you're using the stock reader (ie NOT CoolReader or KoReader) then when reading a book just drag a finger up or down the screen right against the left bezel.

Koreader has this Advanced parameter:

-- Light parameter for Kobo
KOBO_LIGHT_ON_START = -1 -- -1 or 0-100. -1 leaves light as it is, other sets light on start/wake up

If you have the Kobo Start Menu (KSM7) set to autoselect koreader, you could have the light level you want when you use the power button, to start or wakeup your device.

KSM7 also has a "Start with light on" configuration option.

Luck;
Ken

P.S.; KSM's menu has a "Front light on" selection at the top of the page. You could just tap that, when powering on in the dark.

Thanks for the feedback. This seems to work most of the time, but only when reading a book. It doesn't seem to work in the home screen and things like that.

Hi everybody, I'm new in here.
I find not very useful the way to turn light on off. I saw some instructions to copy an image and then a script and use them for nightmode option; it could be possible to create another script with another icon to turn light on/off?

thanks

That would be feasible, but if you turn on the light without involving the original Kobo software, the reader does not switch off the light when it is put to sleep (using the original software).
