Calibre will not sync with my Kindle
I have been using calibre for some time now and have never had a problem with it so I am not sure why its not working for me now. I tried everything that was suggested in the sticky above and it didn't work for me. I ran the debug and got this :
calibre 2.31 [64bit] isfrozen: True is64bit: True Windows-7-6.1.7601-SP1 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '7', '6.1.7601') Python 2.7.9 Windows: ('7', '6.1.7601', 'SP1', 'Multiprocessor Free') USB devices on system: [u'usb\\root_hub20&vid8086&pid8c2d&rev0005', u'usb\\root_hub20&vid8086&pid8c26&rev0005', u'usb\\vid_0c45&pid_7605&rev_0105', u'usb\\vid_0c45&pid_7605&rev_0105&mi_00', u'usb\\vid_0c45&pid_7605&rev_0105&mi_01', u'usb\\vid_174c&pid_2074&rev_0100', u'usb\\vid_1949&pid_0122&rev_????', u'usb\\vid_1949&pid_0122&rev_????&mi_00', u'usb\\vid_1949&pid_0122&rev_????&mi_01', u'usb\\vid_8087&pid_8000&rev_0005', u'usb\\vid_8087&pid_8008&rev_0005', u'usb\\vid_e0ff&pid_0001&rev_0001', u'usb\\vid_e0ff&pid_0001&rev_0001&mi_00', u'usb\\vid_e0ff&pid_0001&rev_0001&mi_01'] Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\devices\scanner.py", line 85, in __call__ DriveError: No removable drives found Drives detected: No disabled plugins Looking for devices of type: MTP_DEVICE List of WPD PNP ids: [u'\\\\?\\usb#vid_1949&pid_0122&mi_00#8&45b2665&0&0 000#{6ac27878-a6fa-4155-ba85-f98f491d4f33}'] MTP device: \\?\usb#vid_1949&pid_0122&mi_00#8&45b2665&0&0000#{ 6ac27878-a6fa-4155-ba85-f98f491d4f33} {'device_version': u'1.0', 'friendly_name': u'', 'has_bulk_properties': True, 'has_storage': True, 'manufacturer_name': u'Amazon', 'model_name': u'Fire', 'protocol': u'MTP: 1.00', 'serial_number': u'009306065206021M', 'storage': [], 'type': 'media player'} Not a suitable MTP device, ignoring No suitable MTP devices found Looking for devices of type: SMART_DEVICE_APP All IP addresses {'{69CB0387-4EDF-4728-B9F0-30F333F2C799}': [{'addr': '192.168.0.4', 'netmask': '255.255.255.0', 'broadcast': '192.168.0.255'}], '{846EE342-7039-11DE-9D20-806E6F6E6963}': [{'addr': '127.0.0.1', 'netmask': '255.0.0.0', 'broadcast': '127.255.255.255'}]} No device is connected Looking for devices... Devices possibly connected: None As you can see it doesn't seem to recognize that it is connected at all. I thought it was my USB cable as I have had some cables that will charge but won't support a data connection. I replaced the USB cable with one purchased from Amazon for the Kindle. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on? Edit: I got it to work. Turns out that the kindle had an update that I kept ignoring by turning the wifi off. Once updated and rebooted it worked fine. Last edited by Ethisienne; 07-13-2015 at 04:47 PM. |

Actually it does, as a MTP device.
The question is why it is being ignored. A new release of the Fire? Have you Restarted (cold booted) the Fire? |

Your device is reporting it has no available storage. Usually rebooting both the Kindle and your computer fixes this.
